What's Your Story?

Every year on September 11th, Entrepreneurs for North Texas (EFNT) honors the lives lost and those forever changed by the tragic events of 9/11 through Freedom Day, an annual day of community service. Hundreds of veterans and first responders from across the Dallas-Ft. Worth area come together to remember, honor, and serve.

This year EFNT will welcome a new set of volunteers into the mix: refugees. Veterans, first responders, and refugees will work alongside one another to better their community, sending the message that we are one America, and we are our strongest when we act together for the common good. Scott Cooper, Veterans for American Ideals’ founder and director, will be the keynote speaker.

As part of this year’s Freedom Day program, participants will be recording their stories of 9/11 and service for StoryCorps, a public service project that has collected and entered into the Library of Congress over 100,000 interviews since 2003. Vets for American Ideals members across the country are also invited to participate in the Freedom Day StoryCorps campaign using the StoryCorps app.

We want to hear from you: Where were you on 9/11? What inspired you to serve in the U.S. military? How has your service shaped who you are today? Why is it important to you that America uphold its core national values? Grab a fellow veteran or a family member, and tell us your story. Simply download the StoryCorps app on your phone and follow the instructions in this form to record and share your story.
